Data Security Discipline

Data Security is a "hot topic" for the industry in general, but for the HPC segment in particular. Most companies have grown up in a very "collegial" atmosphere. Data was generally available to anyone with a valid login to maximize IP re-use and productivity. But the landscape has changed in the last decade, and now you can no longer rely on your firewall to prevent bad actors from sabotaging your business.

The Security Discipline

Data Security Professionals have an incredibly tough job trying to maintain the security of an HPC environment while allowing engineers to be productive.  Enterprises are increasingly open to “locking down” environments in a way that was simply unthinkable a few years ago.  At the same time, enterprises continue to have aggressive time-to-market goals that depend on a regular cadence of R&D productivity.

Association Members have a chance to network with fellow Security Professionals to get ideas on how others are dealing with threats, patches, and policies.  In addition, the Association gives Members a voice to suppliers to talk about what is working well, what could be improved and business drivers for new functionality.
