Board of Directors

Derek Magill

Executive Director, President

Derek has 20 years of experience supporting Semiconductor Engineering functions.  His main focus has been in system architecture and technical management, but over the years he has been involved with technologies such as EDA licensing, ClearCase, HPC architecture, IP management and Engineering software support.

In 2014, Derek assumed the role of Chairman of the CELUG organization, a community of license administrators.  In this capacity, he re-vamped the organization’s technology footprint, organized the monthly member teleconferences and coordinated the CELUG Co-Located Conference at DAC.  In 2017, Derek began the process of establishing the Association of HPC Professionals based on his experience with CELUG.

Derek spent 15 years at Texas Instruments in various technical and managerial roles.  He is currently a Senior Manager, IT at Qualcomm managing the Global License Infrastructure Team as well as being the Lead Technical Architect for their Engineering Cloud activities.

Bob Van der Kloot

Secretary, Board Member

In nearly 38 years at Teradyne, Bob has been a circuit designer, software developer and system architect.  He designed his division’s first gate array, and managed to mirror the pinout so it had to be soldered to the back of the circuit board.   Today Bob is responsible for licensing, tool installation, and development flows.

Dave Reynolds

Treasurer, Board Member

 

Dave is the Electrical Engineering Tools Technical Support and Engineering Tools Infrastructure manager for the ES Business Sector of BAE Systems in the U.S.  He has also worked on the vendor side in his earlier career with positions at CADAM Inc, 3D Systems and PTC.   In addition to engineering application and license services and their servers, his team supports a shared HPC and Linux VDI environment for ES Engineers.

Rachel Stanley

Board Member

Rachel has over 20 years experience with Flexlm with 18 years of those at Honeywell. The last 15 of those years, license management has been her full time job. Currently Rachel is the Technical Team lead overseeing their global licensing support organization.
